The revolutionary
self-ligating
bracket system
Norris 20/26
The Norris 20/26® system represents a new dimension in treatment efficiency and is the most advanced development to date in passive self-ligating brackets and archwire form technology.
Created by Dr. Robert “Tito” Norris, the system is the result of his years of experience treating patients with the leading passive self-ligating systems, combined with his training in mechanical engineering. This allowed him to identify both the physical characteristics and the clinical limitations of existing appliances, and to determine which design elements bring the greatest benefit to today’s orthodontist.
The result is a genuine passive/active twin self-ligating bracket system with a reduced .020 x .026” slot, combined with a series of Extra Broad archwires.

What makes it a unique system?
• The Norris 20/26® system increases treatment efficiency through an advanced design, adapted to today’s clinical needs.
• It is a system born from real practice, based on Dr. Norris’s clinical experience and his expertise in mechanical engineering.
• The innovative design (.020 x .026” slot + Extra Broad archwires) offers better control and an optimal balance between passive and active.

Traditional passive self-ligating bracket systems have long struggled with precise torque and tip control, because of manufacturing tolerances and the unavoidable “play” between archwire and slot. The Norris 20/26® system solves this limitation through a more efficient interaction between bracket and archwire, offering superior clinical control without compromising the low-friction advantages of passive systems.
Extra Broad archwires bring further benefits in alignment and levelling, create more space for tooth positioning and help achieve broader arches and fuller smiles, with a positive influence on soft tissue dynamics as well. Using the same arch form for the maxilla and mandible simplifies the clinical protocol and makes treatment more efficient.
In the final stages, the “rounded” rectangular 19×25 archwires make insertion and activation easier, improving control without increasing friction, while the bracket design (biocompatible materials, a reliable clip mechanism, smooth surfaces and a mechanical base for secure bonding) supports a more predictable clinical experience, greater patient comfort and superior aesthetic results.

The Norris 20/26® Clear bracket system offers the same advanced design as the Norris Metal Bracket system, with the added advantage of an almost invisible look, thanks to a translucent, tooth-coloured material that blends naturally with the smile — improving aesthetics and patient confidence.
Backed by more than four years of research and development, the Norris 20/26® Clear Bracket system has gone through multiple clinical tests to validate its performance, precision and reliability in everyday practice.
What makes the difference
What sets Norris 20/26® self-ligating brackets apart, from the slot to the clip mechanism.
Bracket and slot
- Slot .020″ × .026″
The reduced slot size provides superior control. Clinically proven to be 26% more efficient than the classic PSL bracket system.
- Superior bonding
Designed to bond easily to any tooth and to stay well bonded afterwards.
- Central marking line
Helps with bonding along the long axis of the tooth.
- Universal premolar hooks
One bracket for all upper premolars, so a much smaller inventory.
- Generous space under the tie wings
Enough room for chains, modules and metal ligatures.
The clip
- “Glide” assisted opening and closing
The clip opens or closes by itself once it has travelled more than 50% of the way.
- Unique opening mechanism
Opening and closing forces stay strictly at bracket level, so the tooth feels no excessive pressure when the clip is opened with the instrument or closed with pliers.
- Durable mechanism
A clip with a reciprocal mechanism and a “click” on opening and closing, proven to last throughout treatment.
- Mesio-distal width of the clip
Provides additional rotation control.
- Rounded clip edge
Helps seat the archwire in the slot.
Better friction and no allergic reactions to nickel.

Norris Extra Broad archwires are
30% wider than the widest archwires on the market.
A non-coordinated arch form simplifies treatment, allowing the same form to be used for both the maxilla and the mandible.
30% wider than existing standards, the Extra Broad archwire delivers a number of key advantages and effects: it gives each tooth maximum space, makes levelling and alignment easier because the teeth have a greater range of movement, and introduces an earlier collaborative dynamic between slot and archwire.

Rounded Rectangular
Makes insertion, clip closing and seating easier than ever. Only the radius is rounded, so torque control is not compromised.

Placement guide
The revolutionary Norris 20/26 self-ligating brackets
The Norris 20/26® bracket system offers a flawless clip mechanism, with a reciprocal action and an audible “click” on opening and closing, proven to last throughout treatment.
Opening the bracket clip has never been easier. Insert the Norris “Triple Tool” horizontally into the clip slot and rotate 90 degrees. The unique mechanism inside the bracket clip lets it “glide” to the desired position as soon as more than half of the movement has been made. This “assisted” opening and closing is the first and only one of its kind and another major advance in PSL technology.
“Glide” assisted opening and closing
Triple Tool instrument
The “Triple Tool” is actually three instruments in one: clip opener, slot positioner and ruler . Opening the clip has never been easier with this dedicated instrument. Simply insert it horizontally into the clip slot and rotate 90 degrees.

“HIP” archwire pusher
The Norris HIP “Hold In Place” pusher is two instruments in one. It helps insert the archwire into the slot and makes it easier to apply torque with rectangular archwires . Its shorter design fits easily in the clinician’s hand.

“The Norris System offers unparalleled torque control, and exquisite rotational control.“
“As an orthodontist, I routinely practice with both traditional twin brackets and self-ligating brackets. I recognize the value of having both types of systems in my practice and I am a firm believer that the bracket does not make the orthodontist. However, brackets are one of our most important tools and we should choose wisely. I have extensive experience with many other popular self ligating systems, the shortcomings of which became well known to me. The Norris System, in my experience, was the first system to truly overcome these challenges. The Norris System offers unparalleled torque control, and exquisite rotational control. The novel slot size facilitates arch wire engagement that is truly expressive of the practitioner’s goals. Selective torque inventory is a thing of the past, and the Norris System absolutely rewards precise bracket placement. It offers the lowest bond failure rate I have ever encountered in any bracket; you will be impressed with the bond strength the first time you remove one. I am an arch wire junkie and do not have a generic arch wire sequence for my patients. I routinely finish in .019 x .025 (SS, TMA & braided) arch wires. The Norris System will not marry you to proprietary arch wires and your freedom as a practitioner is preserved. If you are looking for a self-ligating bracket that delivers on both results and cost, the Norris System should be at the top of your list.”
Dr. Matthew David McNutt -DDS, MS-Orthodontist, Cary & Clayton North Carolina

“This allows me to refine and complete finishing touches with less time and fewer visits.“
“EFFICIENCY. The Norris System’s combination of free-sliding performance and finely tuned precision make it a truly efficient system. This allows me to refine and complete finishing touches with less time and fewer visits. Truly remarkable!”
Dr. Steve Guelff - DDS, Sebring, FL

“Wow what a difference! With a slot dimension of .020 x .026, the control in all dimensions is truly amazing…“
“I have been practicing orthodontics for 26 years and started using passive self-ligation when they first came out in the late 1990’s. Finishing was always a struggle until I started using the Norris 20/26 Bracket®. Wow what a difference! With a slot dimension of .020 x .026, the control in all dimensions is truly amazing and I don’t have to make all those annoying adjustments in the wire all the time. My wire adjustments, repositions, number of appointments and length of treatment, have all been reduced dramatically. Patients come back after the .019 x .025 NiTi wire with very little left to do. The door is solid and functions really well, I love the built in hooks and the amount of tie wing space, the bracket is smooth and the bond strength is great. I have been extremely satisfied with the way I am able to treat cases with this bracket and highly recommend it.”
