Place the pointer of the pink ruler on the distal face of the left upper or lower lateral and bend the ruler along the incisal edges to the distal face of the right lateral. Be sure to use the correct side of the ruler marked "lower incisors" or "upper incisors".
Each ruler size has a spacing of 1.5mm on the top and 0.8mm on the bottom.
If there is no crowding or interdental spacing, use the size indicated by the ruler.
If a patient has a crowding of 1.5 mm in the upper frontal area and the measured size is 4G, it is recommended that a 4-1/2G be used to provide room for correction.
If there is a gap of 3 mm in the upper front area and it is measured on the 4G ruler it is recommended to use 3G to close the gaps.
In this case, the device covers the distant anterior teeth.
An alternative method is to measure the mesio-distal widths of the four upper or lower incisors in millimeters and select the Occlus-o-Guide® appliance that corresponds to the measurement on the chart.
Cooperation Detector® is an exclusive advantage of all devices in the range: the special polymer mixture from which the devices are made has a change in opacity that allows you to easily check the frequency of use by the patient.
How it works
The principle of this "detector" is a change in color and transparency depending on the number of hours of use, according to the scheme shown below.
1. Brush the appliance with a toothbrush and toothpaste every day.
2. Before and after each use, it is advisable to rinse both the mouth and the device.
3. You can also immerse the device in a mouthwash. However, it is necessary to choose a clear mouthwash. If the mouthwash is colored, the color will be absorbed by the device.
4. When the device is stored in the box, if it is wet, the box should be left open.
5. If necessary, you can sterilize the device by following the instructions below.
Sterilization options:
1. Boil the device for 10-20 minutes.
2. Alternatively: sterilize for 10 minutes in the cold with instrument sterilization solutions containing dimethylbenzylammonium chloride and isopropanol.
3. Alternatively: put it in an ultrasonic machine using the product indicated in point 2, diluted (30 ml for every liter of water).
Note - Using the above procedures, the device will become slightly opaque. This does not affect its effectiveness. The procedures indicated are adequate for removing contaminants after short-term use of the device, but should not be considered reliable for sterilizing devices after prolonged intraoral use.
